You know you were an Erasmus student in Lju, when...

For once I will cite extensively from facebook (and I'll keep this post in English because also the cited stuff is in English). So, on facebook, I joined a group with the title "You know you were an Erasmus student in Lju, when...". This group collects many statements which are just unbelievably true (at least most of them) and also funny - sure for 'insiders' but hopefully also for you, my dear readers of this blog!

The statements, which make you know that you were an Erasmus student in Lju are listed below, and commented by me:

1. You go to Parlament every single monday. Missed any of them? You shouldn't have!
Well, not every monday, but in the beginning it was just usual to go there. What else should you do if you want to go out on a monday?!

2. You've been to KMS sober once, then decided not to go there sober again.
You definitely shouldn't go there sober... but if you're drunk its big fun!

3. Going abroad every weekend was just a routine.
Yeah.. read the blog and check the pictures on Flickr - it IS true.

4. You want to have the same coupon system in your country as well.
TOTALLY. I'm such a fan of the coupon system. Even one blog post is dedicated to it.

5. You looked for other places than Compañeros on thursdays.
Yeah. Compañeros on thursdays was like Parliament Pub on mondays.. but after some time it gets a bit boring and you find out that you can also go to Metelkova or maybe even Orto-Bar (although this one is better on the weekend).

6. You learned how an airport can be the smallest in size.
Have not been there but heard about it.

7. You started cursing DJ's when they played songs in Slovene.
Well no, I like Slovene songs and I know them by now.

8. You didn't know where to get off bus in BTC and eventually you got lost in it.
BTC is the most complicated shopping destrict you can imagine! And where to leave the bus is less of a problem than finding the bus again when you want to leave...

9. You had pretty good trips with the Šou. Well, some were expensive than normal but still, ok.
Yeah. The Šou is the student organization here. I was on the trip to the Kras region. It was great and the wine and traditional Slovene food were delicious. I also wanted to go on the trip to Sarajavo, but I had an exam or something, but heard it was great as well.

10. You've wondered why there are three bridges next to each other.
Yeah, why is that so? Ok, it looks nice but still.

11. You were suprised after learning that Rozna Dolina was the Beverly Hills of LJ.
In what respect? Don't get it (Rozna Dolina is the biggest student dorm area).

12. You called Metro Taxi for 34897 times, but never heard from the girl answering any other words than : "Metro Prosim" and "5 minutes".
Yeah, its alway 5 minutes, they say. But in practice it varies between 3 and 15.

13. You got screwed by the 9pm alcohol restriction, and then robbed by the "dorm shops"
Yes. But you can still go to bars. And you can get alcohol in some place run by Albanians, so..

14. You've had your mailbox spammed by [Receptionnews] mails, half of them being requests from students needing a drive between Czech Republic and Ljubljana.
This is so very true. Seems like some Erasmus students spend their whole time driving between CR and Lju!

15. You've thought many times that Slovenians may be the nicest people in the world when they were not drunk.
They are also nice when they are drunk.

16. Even though you always complained about how small and boring it was, you always missed LJ.
I'm sure I will miss it. And Berne isn't bigger anyway.

17. You drank Laško, or you drank Union, but not both. Not both.
Laško, Laško, Laško, Laško, Laškoooo!

18. You learnt you shouldn't call other taxis but Metro.
Yeah, totally. If you just take a random cap you may pay 20 Euros when you would pay 2 Euros with Metro. Happened to me once in the beginning...

19. "let's go to Rozna" (for those who don't live there) means... let's get wasted.
Right.

20. you didn't know anything about Lj and Slovenia, but now you can
plan a guided tour of the city or of the entire slovenia by your own.
Oh yeah!

21. you buy Goriska Brda cause it's the cheapest wine and as an erasmus, you cannot afford anything else.
Don't know that wine. But Slovene wines are generally tasty and not very expensive.

22. "tonight's gonna be a good night".
I so hate that song! I hate it! HATE IT!!! (It may happen to you that you hear it 4 times an evening when you go out.

23. you learned how to say cheers in almost all the eastern european languages.
It's the knowlegde of languages which brings people together.. ;-)

24. Dorm 1 is the "ghetto" for Erasmus people.
I know that. Glad, not to live there.

25. you would like to kill the Dj at Parlament.
Oh yeah. He's not even a real DJ, plays stupid music and his haircut is terrible.

Okay. That's it. It actually provides a big insight in student live in Lju. Comments are very welcome!

Entdeckt: Švicarska juha

Hilfe!

Dober tek - Guten Appetit!
